For those who think their is a lack of bass, I would like to say that i disagree. For one they are well balanced and for two you don't have to go and spend money on a sub. My stereo system has a extra bass feature that i think makes a substantial difference. Thank You

These speakers aren't bad sounding, they just are not great speakers. They sound best at low volume. They sound good at less than 10 watts, but not so great above that. Bass is weak from these units. If you want good Bose sound at least go with the 301's. ...

However, I decided to try them as mains, and now, my Yamaha towers I thought sounded so good are my Back Surround speakers...I just ordered the Bose Acoustimass 5s for my left and right surround...I can hardly wait for them to get here...I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for rear or bookshelf speakers that amaze! To me, Bose has always had the top quality sound in the speaker market and these speakers totally live up to that expectation...

I made a nominal effort to repair it, but the cone's requirements were very specific, and a replacement part was not to be found...you're muffling some of the sound if you place one with its side against a wall) and (2) to consider symmetry of the relative placement of the pair relative to the primary locus of listening...My only nitpick with these speakers is entirely minor...
