Installed their software, registered device. Can't click on Firmware Details or Firmware Upgrade. So no idea if an update will fix the problem.

Just spend enought to get something that actually works. This thing freezes up everytime you try to play anything besides AAC files, of all things, and half the songs I uploaded do not go into typical playlists like artist, album, etc, but get dumped ...

The screen size at 1.4 inches is useless for picture or video viewing, so I would recommend against that...I personally down-converted my media collection to 96KBPS MONO files, which still sound really good and keep files small at around 2MB/ file...Overall, I do recommend this player as a device that costs little and if it were to be stolen, stepped on, submerged in water, dropped, lost, etc wouldn't be a big deal or loss due to the cheap price...

You're better off buying devices that are actually meant to handle those features than this which pretty much is good only for playing music...I've never had any good experiences with Coby products but this mp3 player is pretty good considering...Good enough for taking to the gym or replacing your favorite player until you get a new one...
