I purchased these for my son and husband. There is little use without the software, but with it it is the most outstanding purchase I have made. Both love to hunt and I feel much safer knowing they can find each other on it and navigate home. Our only ...

Great little GPS by randreed on pricegrabber.com Aug 15, 2005
We use these for outdoor games and geocaching and they are very reliable units. They can also be used to keep track of dogs (clipped to the collar) or even kids (in backpack) using the polling feature. We are very pleased with this purchase and we ...

Garmin RINO120 by Charlie M. on vanns.com Jan 24, 2004
This new GPS product is a step above. Not only have the wonderful people at Garmin integrated a 2-way radio into the GPS unit, but they have made one that is, FINALLY, user friendly. I own one of these units, and have YET to get lost going anywhere, vehichle ...

A Rock Solid, Dependable and widely used piece of Hardcore Gear! by eastondawson on shopping.com May 28, 2007
I own both the Rino 110 and Rino 120. Both models are light weight, easy to use and are PACKED with extra features that I did not expect. The Rino 120 has extra memory for more detailed mapping and memory. I live in Southern Utah and spend most if not ...

well it's a radio by Josh Jeffords on amazon.com Aug 15, 2010

garmin radio quality by boyd050 on shopping.com Sep 17, 2004
So far I love the GPS and peer to peer aspects of the garmin 120, if only the radio actually worked. the quality is absolutely atrocious, I have contacted them in this regard, I even compared them to the motorola talk abouts, and the difference is night and day, I hope to get this resolved with...

"Radio is so bad, you might as well just yell at the other guy." by stevecox25 on cnet.com Dec 7, 2002
After waiting all summer and fall to recieve a pair, I was sorly disappointed with the radio performance. You don't need a radio if you have to be so close as to hear the other person breathing. Garmin has a great idea, they just need a radio to go with ...

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Garmin Rino 120 GPS with 2-Way Radio
Obviously I wasn't able to hit every possible feature but from what I got to use it I already establish the possible pros and cons of the unit...Go to FCC.com fill out two short forms and pay $$ fee which is good for 5 years and they send you your license and call sign...I have no bad comments about the 120, well, maybe the battery life could be better...

The GPS functions are also good...Recommend! A+ well worth the price you pay not as powerful as the latest versions in connecting with satelites I've worked with Search and Rescue for five years now and i've worked with this gps the whole time...The one drawback is the satellite reception is not as good as the more expensive models...

Garmin Rino 120 GPS Receiver 010-00270-02 - Buy Garmin GPS Devices | PCNation.com
I would give the overall rating a 9.5 for features and ease of usage as well as durabillity, but when used with BRAND NEW batteries on TWO different 110s and a 120 I could not get more than 3 hours use of them nomatter how I changed the settings...I highly recommend to anyone who might have use for both capbilities...If I did this again I would get a good GPS and a good 14 mile radio...

This may be causing lots of other people problems too, that they are interpreting as a bad radio...It's not the transmit range that is bad, its the transmit audio quality...I know its an FCC rule, but why have a good idea that can't be implemented correctly...

Strong GPS and radio performance; rugged design; reasonably priced; extra memory and applications....Small buttons; sensitive Click Stick; no low-battery alarm....The RINO uses three AA alkaline cells (not included) or an optional rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride battery pack...However, this is a minor flaw in an otherwise well-designed product...You get built-in Americas Highways and Marine Point Database maps, plus 8MB of memory for storing data from one...
