Wonderful product. I use this everyday at my job. The battery life is awesome, the screen is big enough for what you need to do. The controls are easy to use. If you are looking for a top quality, rugid, dependable GPS Unit for work or for just recrecational use, you cannot go wrong with this one.

I got two of these from [...] for $503 each with an online coupon. They seem to work great. The screen resolution is not as nice as a modern smartphone, but its acceptable. Everything arrived undamaged. The main unit is not packed in any plastic, so you ...

did not work well by MelvinWillard on amazon.com Jan 25, 2012
I dropped my Rino 530Hcx too many times, I'm really not all that gentle with my equipment. I thought I'd upgrade but was disappointed overall. I do a lot of fishing and occasional hiking around Juneau, Alaska, plus I like to take a gps unit with me ...

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Garmin Rino 650 US GPS
It is a touch screen and not as good as the one on my iphone but still works well...The radio feels good in the hand and the manual buttons on the size require looking at to find but are not accidentally pressed...I have settled on Garmin because they offer the best overall package with hardware and software...

Garmin 650 or Tom Tom 720 or Magellan 4250 - FlyerTalk Forums
I did some more research and the price seems to be very good for the unit...The Garmin StreetPilot c580 as well as the Tom Tom 910 or the Tom Tom One are also supposed to be very good...The price is very good (I checked about 6-8 websites and the next closest was $100 more) and the nice thing about buying from Costco is you can take it back if you're not satisfied...

Garmin I3 - SV650.org - SV650 & Gladius 650 Forum
The part that actually clamped onto the bars was very thin, as was the stem connecting this to the main bit of the mount, so I think you could probably use them "as is", rather than having to thin them down/move your switchgear...i had this unit on my old Yamaha xj600 had it mounted on the handlebars using a modified front headlight light that you would put onto a mountain bike...I got another sucker mount for a car windscreen and put a bolt through it onto my dark DB screen...

Not sure about the 650, but I have a 660 so it should be close...That said, you should have a display setting that allows you to adjust the backlight timeout...However, in your case, you seem to want to leave it on all the time...
