Buy it. You'll like it. I promise. It does have a shiny screen, so if you don't like that, then keep looking. I was on the fence, but only with a strong back light do I get glare. Then again, I knew it was shiny when I bought it, so I made sure there'd be no nearby light to glare.

HP could have had a hit if they would have used a better quality TN panel. I've had IPS, VA & TN panels, so I know the differnce. HP just can't get it right. I returned the HP & got an LG W2340VG, which is also a TN panel. It's only 23", but the quality is so much better.

In terms of sharpness it's fantastic the gloss type Bright View screen makes all the difference for me as most other monitors on the market are semi-gloss which I have found detracts from a good image quality when dealing with photos...The quality of the construction is fine and again is as good as any monitor in this price range...I'm glad I pick it up and I would recommend it to friends...

Only negatives is the loss of the height adjustment and the viewing angle, which is critical to get the best picture quality...you have to be straight on for the best performance.) Otherwise, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a large screen...You can also reduce the blur while watching online movies or playing online games with the 5ms on/off response time...
