I think it's important to point out that Erik's review is from the perspective of the average consumer, rather than a professinal/enthusiast. A pro would probably care more about things like input lag, calibrated contrast ratio, panel uniformity, color ...

Sadly, since I no longer have the same serial number monitor and box, I can't return it to the original place where I purchased it. I've had this monitor for 30 days, and I'm surprised that HP can't simply send me a new unit instead of the never ending ...

A lot of the positive comments here seem to be from gamers. I agree videos look great on this monitor. However if you are using the monitor for programming -- I found the brightness to be far too strong even at the lowest level.

I have kicked around getting a larger monitor for a while but was really concerned about lag since I like to play games in between work...If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up...I would recommend this monitor to anyone who wants a larger screen monitor...

IPS Outstanding uniformity wide gamut (which , for a 30-bit panel a good thing with a 30-Bit panel) No OSD No Built-in Scalar I think it's important to point out that Erik's review is from the perspective of the average consumer, rather than a professinal/enthusiast...A pro would probably care more about things like input lag, calibrated contrast ratio, panel uniformity, color accuracy, gamut, etc --as opposed to the number of ports, OSD, and things of that nature...Lets be honest your spending a grand plus on a monitor why wouldnt you drop the extra on a calibration tool...

I purchased this item on a Saturday and it arrived at my home on Wednesday so no problems with shipping...Owned the monitor for a little over a month now and it is really great...Hardly a deal breaker but I do wonder why there wasn't a menu included...

Size, clarity, cable management, the mounting stand and the adjustment options it offers...

LOTS of screen real estate takes a decent video card to run decent frame rates, price excellent color decent response, rated best of the best by Maximum PC, this is a true monitor, not some crummy re-branded TV...

Good upgrade from basic pc speakers especially with the addition of a sub-woofer...The sound quality is good when not turned up all the way...I think that these speakers are good for their price, but as you turn it up more they begin to get unclear, especially with the bass up high...

at first I thought the article was going to be about me, then read the rest of the headline...30 Inches of Love A Look At HP's New ZR30w LCD Monitor - Digg...Gotta say, though, just picked up a 27" TN panel for a little over $300 and it is really nice...

The ZR30w display stand packs virtually all the bells and whistles a 30” stand should...That said, I was immediately impressed with the ZR30w...Even with this ICM profile however, the panel seemed a bit cool in temperature to me (I later measured and found the same), but everything else seemed quite good...

Suffice to say, the ZR30w runs laps around your typical TN panel, like the Asus VH242H that's so popular among home users, most of which have probably never laid eyes on an IPS screen...And thanks in part to the high color gamut, the ZR30w is able to hang with the best 30-inch models on the market, sometimes at a fraction of the price...In contrast, a 30-inch panel like the ZR30w offers a native resolution of 2560x1600, and that makes all the difference in the world when trying to work with multiple windows or manipulate gargantuan images...

After some research, I have chosen the HP ZR30w monitor...Well, my office, where I play my video games, is also outfitted with Left & Right, and Rear Left & Right speakers, plus center channel and sub for a full-fledged 5.1 system...I have a nice leather chair in my office situated a good 3 feet from the monitor location and would love to sit there and watch movies after a hard-day of playing video games (tongue-in-cheek...The HP LP3065 (old) and ZR30w, Dell 3007, 3008 and new U3011 as well as the LGW3000H use a panel that comes from LG...
