Hero by david on amazon.com Sep 5, 2011
I have had the Hero from Sprint for almost two years now and I am very happy with it. I only upgraded at the time because I kept receiving texts on my Razor. Texting wasn't that easy on the Razor. Any way, my wife and kids have newer phones that don't ...

"Great phone...especially if you root!" by DouglasFargo on cnet.com Aug 21, 2011
Great little phone from Sprint. Comes with Android 2.1, with no official updates past that...BUT...contrary to statements from both Sprint and HTC, this awesome little phone can and will run 2.2 AND 2.3. The developers at XDA and Cyanogenmod have come ...

An old device Way behind the times. by domriehl on bestbuy.com Feb 11, 2011

Good question! The layout of the call and answer buttons makes them very hard to use for someone with medium to large size hands, so its difficult to push one of them without also pushing one of the other nearby buttons...But the quality of coating is beter on HTC hero, screen feels smooth and has good contrast...I would definitely recommend this phone! It isn't one of the best selling phones on the market right now for nothing...

Good call quality, visual voicemail, nice iChat inspired MMS and SMS chat timelines (definitely one of the best iPhone features, and surely one to copy...My HTC Hero is, to me at least, far superior to iPhone in terms of sheer functionality, quality, reception, voice quality, and as good as 3G and 3GS in terms of speed when running through apps and using the phone...WIth GPS on, it has my location to about 10 feet or so :) The phone comes with the USB cable/detachable wall plug - quality is good...

Some apps will also drain your battery life but this is mainly down to bad coding and not the phone itself...I can't think of any other bad points worth mentioning! Fantastic interface, open 'app' marketplace, great google integration...The casing is made with a kevlar coating and the screen is scratch resistant to keep it as good as new for longer than most other phones, and the size and weight are perfect...

The battery life is okay, not as bad as the Palm Pre, but definitely should be improved...I also think a good feature for the HTC Hero, is to have customizable notification sounds for text messaging, or specific customizable notifications from different contacts...That will be a good feature to have, because I'm all about personalizing a phone to my exact taste...

by mick1666 TRUSTWORTHY HTC hero a revolution as they say, but is it actually a competitor to the cutting edge technology used in Apple’s iPhone...Now, hero has an upper hand when it comes to design, personalization, web browsing, socializing and is a very good phone especially for the teenagers...Another bad thing about the iPhone is that its a fingerprint magnet however the Teflon coating on the hero not only keeps it shiny but also keeps it away from finger prints...

With the Hero it pretty much manages to turn that dream into a reality...We know you've probably looked at the photos of the Hero (or G2 Touch as T-mobile calls it) and thought that it'd be a good looking phone if it's wasn't for the jutting jaw line...This is because the Hero has a more refined styling than HTC's previous two Android efforts...In fact, it's so good we'd say it's on a par with the iPhone which, let's face it, has set a pretty high benchmark...
