These speakers are wonderful, but I strongly recommend a receiver capable of frequency calibration...When coupled with the right receiver--especially one with active calibration--the HD 1000 gets my recommendation...It was a good deal but I was not happy with the sound...

I took delivery of these Klipsch speakers a month ago and have been very happy using them with a Yamaha NeoHD media controller...I wanted our first surround system to immerse us in movies and play music with authority while my wife was adamant it not dominate the room's aesthetics (read, "They better be small.") I ordered these mainly based on previous good experiences with Klipsch products...Still, the price seems a bit high (prices set by Klipsch I do believe), hence the 4 stars...

if you don't like "bright" then go with the RC-70's...It makes them very efficient and some people love the way it helps HT dynamics, but IMHO it's not good for 2-ch music (too fatiguing...Vann's has a return policy, so my suggestion is to go listen to the Klipsch's and order the RC-70's (while they are still on sale and before they run out of stock) and see which one YOU like better...The RC70's fill that room very nicely, and get very very loud...
