I have never had a photo printer. It is nice to be able to print picture quality. We all have the inkjet printers that print pictures. They are not even close to the quality that the docking station. I really like this product.

This product is really a scam - I bought it and ran out of paper. Couldn't find the Kodak paper anywhere so bought something similar and that broke my entire printer. Kodak should put major warnings on the system. Really would not recommend anybody to buy this.

The unimpressive G600 is only worth it if you already own an imageLink-compatible camera...It's not a bad idea, but you must have an ImageLink camera to benefit from it...The G600 takes a huge ink ribbon that lasts for 100 prints, so you won't need to change it often...We weren't able to test the G600 from a memory card, but it was fairly quick to print from a PC...
