I would recommend turning the backlight and brightness down some...I definitely recommend you take the time to calibrate your TV, I went to AVS Forum and there are some hack codes you can use to unlock THX mode, LED local dimming and such but I dont want to void my warrant or even risk messing up the TV...I did however use THX settings recommended by certain LG enthusiasts...
