I bought an Oki c9650n based on a what reviews I could find, and samples sent from Oki themselves...What I was looking for was an A3+ laser (or LED as in Oki's case) printer that produced good quality proofs (colour accuracy was important) as well as a machine that could pay for itself running a few jobs through it...The toners at 800-odd quid for a set of CMYK is scandalous, and kiss goodbye to any warranty or service cooperation if you use compatibles, however good a quality...It produces a good print on plain copier paper, but then so does every other laser printer on the market...Digital color printers from OKI Printing Solutions provide high-quality, tabloid-extra (12" x 18") color output With the C9650 Series Digital Color...

The OKI C9650N is a large format colour laser printer marketed as a one-stop solution for in-house printing of both business documents and artwork...We looked at the entry-level base unit – to which can be added a variety of paper trays and finishing units – so we couldn't examine the auto-duplexing capability of the OKI C9650N, as it is optional at this level...The proponents of LED printing point out that LED printheads have fewer moving parts and are therefore more efficient in operation: this is the reasoning behind OKI's claimed performance figure of 36 pages per minute in colour for the OKI C9650N...If LED printers can be claimed to be speedier, the trade-off is that, due to physical limitations – you can cram only a finite number of LEDs into a printhead array – definition tends to suffer in fine print...
