These speakers are perfect for in ceiling surround sound. They are 6.5" speakers so they are not made to generate a lot of bass. If you want bass then buy a powered sub. Surround sound speakers (FL/FR - R/R/RL)are just for generating sound that occurs ...

Why in the world do any of the reviewers think these sound good? I thought that the brand name would mean quality, but these are complete junk and sound like plastic junk. Polk ought to be ashamed to have their name on this product.

Bought on blaster special and these are not even average and 1 week later even cheaper...So far so good! I bought 3 pairs (rear surrounds in great room, kitchen and dining room) for the main floor of our new house which I had pre-wired when it was built...Grill a little difficult to remove, but once you see how it comes out it's much easier...
