I can't say I have ever had an issue w/ any Samsung product I have purchased. My big screen TV, Blue-ray player, Phone, components in my PC, etc., all Samsung, all have worked as expected. Plus they have stood up to the test of time. So, I did not hesitate ...

It seemed like a decent deal, and I was in desperate need for a good camcorder...This was WITHOUT anti-shake enabled (OBviously!), which I have since enabled and it is PRETTY darn good...Overall, this is a pretty good value...

USB charging, shoots stills, face detection, stabilization, nice zoom, very light, clear LCD, simple USB-to-miniUSB cable and charger is easy/cheap to replace...Battery life for base battery seems good over 1hr plus...I use my units to capture church sermons and edit using Pinnacle/Avid 14 software, then launch to website! So far, so good...

But they were cheap, and usually had extreme zoom lenses, and the files were easy to play and edit on older computers...What was left were inexpensive models with generally mediocre or downright bad video quality...He has been writing about and reviewing consumer technology and software since 2000...
