I do not know if mine is defective or all are but there are several recertified available. That speas volumes. Buy an Iriver or creative. They are great. I also had a cowen, it seemed fragile and stopped about the same as the warranty.

SanDisk's customer service is VERY good, Micro SD slot for expansion, reasonably functional interface...Doing an RMA is never convenient, but it's good to know that sandisk stands behind their product...and if NOTHING else, I will buy another sandisk because of how good the support is...
