Used CNET for years and wanted to share buying experience, TV's never look the same at home and manufacturers make too many models to reasonably pick one that is best for your environment the first time. There are few sets in this price range that are this good over all, best of luck....

TV looked great for three days. On the fourth day, a thin red vertical line appeared on the left side of the screen. Don't know yet whether this is just a bad apple or if there is a flaw in the model.

I actually read manuals but when I get stuck trying to implement something new - like Internet Wireless connection - good technical support is critical...I have a wonderful Onkyo AV Receiver with full 5.1 surround sound but just want to play most TV programs and sportscasts with just good TV speaker sound...Sony gets good reviews too, but Sony does not make their own panels...

The Sharp LC-LE830U has a picture with relatively accurate color in bright areas, good video processing, and the ability to handle bright rooms well....Reproduces lighter black levels; poor screen uniformity; dark areas tinged blue; separate interfaces...The addition of Vudu Apps makes up for a lot, but unfortunately it resides in a completely separate interface with many apps (Twitter and Picasa, for example) that duplicate ones found in Aquos Net...We appreciate...
