This is superb projector,it doesn't matter if it's up to 1080p hype and yes it is "just" 720p. SDE is not an issue,it gives a excellent detailed picture dvd's and hi def is stunning. Colours and black level is up there with most CRT's,sometimes even ...

Excellent Black Levels and Color Accuracy by Polyscroll on pricegrabber.com Apr 26, 2008
I purchased this projector as an upgrade to my existing Mitsubishi 720p DLP unit. After hooking it up and tweaking the abundance of controls, all I can say is WOW! This thing projects an image which is "head and shoulders" above what my current projector ...

reference quality projector by realderek on amazon.com Apr 14, 2010
Ok, Here is my review: This is a reference quality projector. Period. I previously thought the Sim2 Domino 720p DLP projector was the best, but I changed my mind. I sell and install home theaters so I have owned or installed all kinds of projectors. This ...

terrible by Diane Mall "mudbone" on amazon.com Aug 30, 2009
This is not the first projector I have purchased. I have owned Sharp's xvz10000 and the xvz12000. I have (in my 10000) had 8 bulbs replaced in 8 months! Then, Sharp tried to make it right by replacing it with the 12000, and the same thing happened. I ...

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Sharp XVZ12000U - DLP projector - 900 ANSI lumens
This unit has vertical lens shift (but not horizontal) which makes it easier to mount and get a good square image (without keystoning...I recommend feeding this 1080i from a Blu-Ray player to get maximum image quality...This is a highly recommended projector that has NO light leak, super smooth image processing, variable iris control, and is made for true videophiles...

Superb Black Levels Excellent Contrast Extremely Accurate Colors Solidly Built Rather Large & Heavy No HDMI Input Only DVI-D Fan is a little noisier than other brands I purchased this projector as an upgrade to my existing Mitsubishi 720p DLP unit...Grayscale tracking AND Color decoding controls are user accessible for the ability to perfectly calibrate this unit if desired...This is a superb unit and a tweaker's delight! An excellent upgrade for those with lesser units...

Newegg.com - SHARP XVZ12000U 720P 1280 x 720 Home Theater DLP projector
I have owned the Sharp XVZ12000U for 3 years now and burned through 1 bulb so far...Picture is amazing on a Stewart screen with Firehawk material...Would definitely recommend to anyone setting up a serious home theater...

Sharp XV-Z12000 DLP projector | Home Theater
Apart from a slight change in the color of the case, there's little that visibly distinguishes Sharp's new XV-Z12000 DLP home theater projector from its predecessor, the XV-Z10000...As we go to press, we've put about 50 hours on our XV-Z12000...But its perfor-mance was so good through the component input that this shortcoming didn't bother me...In short, Sharp has made some important changes but left the good stuff alone...

Dukane 9017 (JVC DLA-SX21U) vs. Sharp XV-Z12000U
There are no rainbows with the Dukane, because it's a 3-chip projector...I made my mount so that I could slide the projector forward or backwards since I tend to change projectors so often (this is my 10th or so in the last 3 years...The 9017 is definitely brighter than the 12k...

VP4001 or Sharp XVZ 12000 MII? - AVS Forum
I am considering buying either the sharp XVZ 12000 MII or the Marantz VP4001...The latter being slightly cheaper now that the good deal on the sharp is out of stock...Anyhow, I want to get the biggest screen i can for my set up without it looking bad...So, I would put the Sharp Z12000 MkII closer to the VP4001 than the S4...

AudiogoN Forums: B&W Home Theater SHARP XVZ12000
From what I have learned that speaker cables and power cables don't really make a difference...this system sounds good for two channel but could deffinitly sound better with some minnor tweeks I think...Both good speaker wires and power cords allow all the current to flow unrestricted while taming EMI/RF interference...

I am really looking to get a Barco 7LT CRT projector but it is looking like this may not be a practicle option due to the constraints about positioning...I have seen the Barco 7LT CRT projector in action and it is as near to silent as I have heard a projector of any kind...

Sharp XVZ12000 review | from TechRadar's expert reviews of Projectors
Brightness Strong contrast ratio Good image processing Extensively adjustable picture set-up...Video noise not as low as some competing projectors some mechanical noise too...Replacing the visually similar XV-Z10000, the XV-Z12000 offers improved performance for £1,000 less and represents Sharp's most focussed attack yet on the high-end projector ramparts...Being a DLP projector, the XV-Z12000 doesn't have quite the raw light power on screen of an LCD model,...

Sharp XV-Z12000 Mark II DLP Projector | Ultimateavmag.com
Excellent balance of blacks, light output, and contrast ratio Outstanding color fidelity and grayscale tracking Terrific, intuitive remote control...Onscreen menus too busy Only a single DVI input Focus a touch soft in some areas of screen ...The singular difference between the XV-Z12000 Mark II ($11,000) and its predecessor is the inclusion of TI's latest and greatest current DLP chip, the DarkChip3 HD2...My own experiences with Sharp's original...

Sharp XV-Z12000 manual review lamp dlp projector
It is recommended that the lamp be changed after approximately 1,900 cumulative hours of use...I When the lamp replacement indicator and on-screen display icon are illuminated or flash, it is recommended that the lamp be replaced with a new one immediately, even if the lamp appears to be operating normally...In such a case, it is recommended you contact your nearest Authorized SharpVision Service Center or Dealer to remove the damaged lamp and assure safe operation...
