It is not nearly as "boomy" as the sub this is replacing; it produces a much "cleaner" sound and has been very good for movies and HDTV...It is surprisingly good when watching HDTV at normal/low volume levels...True, this sub will not shake the room apart, but for those who appreciate audio quality, the MiniVee just sounds good...

Based on my time with the MiniVee, I declare Velodyne the king of bass per square inch...With the Velodyne MiniVee on bass, mated with a potent pair of bookshelf speakers, you could very easily be enjoying full-range sound from a compact PC system that rivals most (if not all) of your friends dedicated home theater systems...I may be able to shoehorn the MiniVee-10 in, but it would be a tight squeeze...I did a price check and it looks like about $1200 shipped to my address...

Pounds hard in a smallish space, sounds pretty accurate...I came to the conclusion that the 1000 might have been a bit overkill in smallish apartment, so I settled on the minivee...I havent listened to too much music yet, but what i have heard sounds good thus far...
