Extremely nice A/V receiver by Simple_Guy "Simple" on amazon.com Jul 2, 2012
Own the 671 (last years network receiver) and works wonderful as of today as it runs in our dedicated home theater. The 373 is the lowest model of the RX-V series and I choose it since I know the 671 setup was very easy even without using ypao, so I ...

My first Yamaha receiver... by William J. Edger on amazon.com Jul 4, 2012
and I couldn't be happier! As other reviewers mention the 373 is a definite step up from the 371 with the USB port on the front for iPod or iPhone and the mic for YPAO calibration. Since I already have devices that can stream music on my PC and Internet ...

Excellent receiver by T. A. Clark on amazon.com Apr 25, 2012
I have the Yamaha 371 that I use for my downstairs TV, but I wanted to replace an aging speaker setup on my PC with a nice receiver and speakers instead of just so-so computer speakers that would start to near the same price. The 371 has been fantastic ...

More options than older RX-V371 by Fishing Fool on amazon.com Apr 24, 2012
I decided to buy this over the older RX-V371 because of a few additonal features that made it much more convenient for me to use. The first feature is the front USB port which recognizes iPhones/iPods and mass storage devices which is a huge improvement. ...

User Friendliness by Old Viking on amazon.com May 22, 2012
The face of the instrument is designed with no user friendliness component. A receiver is a straightforward instrument. It shouldn't require 83 pages of documentation. It almost defies one to make a selection or an adjustment. A multi-station computer ...

HDMI sound and video problems by R. Johnson on amazon.com Apr 27, 2012
I have had very good experience with Yamaha receiver in the past, so purchased this new model several weeks ago and had to return. Setup for speakers was very easy, but as soon as I started connecting HDMI devices, the problems started. And FYI, all ...

Will not work with Time Warner box-BEWARE-I WAS NOT RIPPED OFF! by Judy M. Cheatham "ripped off" on amazon.com May 28, 2012
Will not work with any of my several Time Warner Scientific Atlanta 8300HD DVR's. Customer support at Yamaha was useless and blamed the cable boxes...all 3 bad? I don't think so! Gonna get a Pioneer since I have one that works beautifully with my DVR's.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Yamaha RX-V373 5.1-Channel AV Receiver
So far so good!! Watched our first Blu-ray Disc with it last night with our surround sound setup and even my wife, who was skeptical of this whole idea, was impressed...The 373 here is basically just a better version of the 371, and I'd recommend it over the older model unless you're adamant on saving a few dollars...I strongly recommend trying it out for people looking at the receiver, and it's a nice upgrade over the 371 model...
